Safety Beach lies between the foothills of Mount Martha and Arthur's Seat and borders Port Philip Bay. Safety Beach Yacht Club hosts sailing regattas in summer and sits at the entrance to the newly developed Martha Cove. The area is flat and is great for biking and walking. Local water activities include swimming, sailing, kayaking and jet skiing.
